my new pillow

{image taken from here}

I don't know about you, but I always feel a little blue when I get home from a holiday.  I've been back in Canada for less than 24 hours, and already I'm feeling down.  So you can imagine how happy I was to arrive home to my new pillow!!

Cath, of mybeardedpigeon from etsy.com,  finds old maps, transfers them onto gorgeous organic cotton, and makes cushion covers out of them.  These are some examples, images taken from her etsy site:

She has a wide selection.  And if you want a map that she doesn't have, she'll find it for you and custom make it!  That's what she did for me, with my map of Papua New Guinea (where I'm from).  And let me tell you, this pillow is beautiful.  The quality is amazing, it looks stunning sitting on my couch, and it's just so unique.  Plus, she was super friendly and easy to communicate with.

I'm seriously somewhat obsessed with my new cushion.  Tell me, which map/pillow would you have?

  1. What an absolutely lovely review. I am so glad you love it so much. Lots of people buy them to help with a bit of homesickness.
    Enjoy!!!

  2. Hmm, I would get one of upper/lower Canada.. those are cool. Probably because my ancestors were those pioneers :) My dad's family arrived in Canada in the mid to late 1600's.
