silent disco

I had one of the best evenings ever, last week, in Australia.  The Australian Museum, in Sydney, hosted an event one evening called "Jurassic Lounge".  It was an evening of cocktails, DJs, live performers, and live animals.  Essentially, they made the museum into a premium spot for date night, and the place was packed with people 25-35ish.  And let me tell you, it was fun.

Have you ever heard of a silent disco?  I hadn't, until I went to "Jurassic Lounge".  There's a DJ, but the music can only be heard through portable headphones.  It's the funniest thing, to walk into a dinosaur exhibition and see a group of people dancing under a T-Rex skeleton sans music.  Even funnier when those dancing start singing along to the song on their headphones, at the top of their lungs.

So, of course, we joined in on the fun.

Oh, and apparently this little guy actually existed?!?!
