I have discovered a fantastic blog called A Subtle Revelry. Victoria, the blogger, has the most fantastic DIY crafts, and I was just itching to make this one. Mine didn't turn out quite as flawless as hers, but I love it none the less. And my flatmate Andy says that even though it's girly, it's cool, so it can stay. Yeay!

And yes, that is wax dripping off the side of the mantle. And yes, we did forget to pay attention to the candles. And yes, we do have a huge mess of dried wax on our hardwood floors to clean up.
