A while ago (just over 12 weeks ago, to be exact) I posted this post on a new exercise/eating regime I began. Well, the 12 weeks are over, and here's my opinion: the program's amazing! I'm signing up for the next round. I actually only did 8 weeks of the eating program and 10 weeks of the exercise program, as at week 9 The Fella and I started our month long trip to Canada. And, well, my goal became to just not gain back too much of what I'd lost......you can't go on a holiday like that and keep it all up and not indulge ;-)
I was mostly able to stick to both the exercising and the eating programs perfectly, and it was easy! Well, the waking up at 5:30am to go to the gym before work was not easy, but I managed to do it. And you know what? That hour at the gym became one of my favourite parts of the day! And the food program wasn't a diet at all. Throughout the 8 weeks I did it I made things like beef stroganoff, thai curry prawns, roast chicken, paella, stuff like that. It was really just all about healthy and clean eating while maintaining portion control.
And the exercise part of it was really well planned. There were videos to show me how to do things properly, step-by-step guides to download, and I was always able to ask the people who work at my gym. At the start of the program I couldn't run 1Km. Now I can run 5. And I actually like running now, too!
Although I gained back some of the weight I lost while on vacation, I'm still slimmer than I was, and my muscle tone still shows through. If you take my progress from 8 weeks, I'd lost 5Kg (which is roughly about 13lbs or something). And the best part of it is: IT'S ALL SUSTAINABLE. The program is totally doable long-term, both the eating and the exercising. You can switch what you eat when, of course - and after doing two rounds I'll have loads of recipes and ideas and gym-knowledge to just keep going on my own and continue to make good life-eating-exercise choices.
The only bad thing is that my boobs got an entire cup size smaller, something The Fella took special note to. But other than that, I was totally happy with the results and I can't wait for the next round.
