Not me. I haven't turned 35. The Fella did.
I've been working on a little project for the last few weeks, and it all came to plan this past Saturday....
A surprise party! I wanted to do something special for The Fella's birthday, since 35 is kind of a milestone, so I spent three weeks organizing a surprise party for him. I invited all of his friends, some of mine, and members of both our families....and 20-25 people showed up, which I think is pretty amazing! My sister and brother-in-law even drove over an hour just to be there.
We spent an afternoon at barefoot lawn bowls (that's similar to bocce ball, for those of us from the Northern Hemisphere), and then we continued the party after. Some of us later than others (The Fella stumbled through the door sometime around 2am, long after I'd gone home.....and that's pretty respectable considering the party started at 2). I even commissioned a special cake for him.
It was wonderful. It was a genuinely wonderful and relaxing afternoon, and it was so SO good to see The Fella so purely happy and relaxed. He was honestly surprised, and was so touched he was moved to tears. It was a magical day.
