saying goodbye, and an introduction to my guest blogger series

{image taken from here}
My friend Cheryl introduced me to the blog texassyrup.  I've become obsessed.  I hear my own thoughts in his words, and feel my own experiences in his.  What I'm about to do - what I am doing (in three weeks) - is huge.  I've moved internationally before, but for some reason this move is bigger than any of its predecessors.  It's scarier.  There's more at stake.  It's the biggest leap of faith I've ever attempted, and the biggest risk I've ever taken.

Rob's very first post, indeed, his very first paragraph, has stuck in my mind.  I keep coming back to it over and over again.

Something you’re never warned about when attempting a major move, or so I’ve realized, is the moment when the full implications of what you’re doing hit home.  That singular instance when you understand that there’s no going back; that as much as you might gain, you’re about to lose a lot too.

I know the next couple of months, at least, are going to be tough.  So with that in mind, I'd like to introduce my very first ever guest blogger series.  I have gathered together a group of amazing bloggers who have been gracious enough to write for me.  Their posts will talk about their experiences with homesickness.  The first one will be tomorrow.  I can't wait to hear your thoughts!
