sometimes i really love google

I don't to write posts that have "preachy" tones to them, or to push my political or ethical beliefs.  However, today's post is going to be quite outspoken.  Because I have to share something, and it needs an explanation as to why I sometimes just really love Google.

I'm not gay or bisexual.  But I love lots of people who are.  Some of the people I love most in the world are gay.  And my adamant belief that homosexuality isn't "abnormal", and that someone's sexuality really doesn't matter, leads me to be disgusted with what's going on in Russia right now (in other parts of the world, too, but particularly Russia at the moment).

If you haven't heard about the anti-gay laws that Russia is pushing these days, then click on this link to read a fact sheet of LGBT rights in Russia.  It's absolutely disgusting.

I've always had a quiet tendency to do little things that make a small stand for what I believe in; things you wouldn't normally notice me doing (because they're small, and I don't talk about them).  Like how I only eat free ranged chicken or eggs, or how I will never get married in a country that doesn't allow gay marriage (Australia doesn't), or how I don't eat Barilla Pasta.  Or how I don't drink Russian vodka, and how when ordering a cocktail I specifically make sure that the vodka is from somewhere else.  Some people might think these little things I do are pointless, or silly, or don't mean anything since I don't do 'bigger' more outspoken things.  But I feel like I'm doing small things that support my beliefs.

And this leads in to why I love Google.

Now tell me that isn't a rainbow flag.  And tell me that quote isn't about equality in general.  And tell me this isn't a very clever way Google is taking a stance and letting the company's beliefs be known.
