making chocolate

My friend Eryne and I did the funnest thing the other night.  We took a chocolate making class together!  It was held at a local chocolatier, and we learned all about the history of chocolate while making truffles!  And the best part?  We got to take our chocolates home!  Eryne and her husband are slowly making their way through their chocolates.  I, on the other hand, have nobody at home to share them with, and so have been giving them away one at a time, to friends, when we meet up for coffee.  They make such a great little gift to surprise someone with!

We got to taste different types of chocolate, from different parts of the world!

Decorations for our truffles.

Coco pod!
It was so hard not to just stick my face in this and start licking.
So I settled for dipping our chocolates in there instead.
Eryne made mushroom-shaped chocolates.
I made hearts, stars, and a moon.  I called them my "loves and dreams".
These patterns are made from coco butter, and when you pull
the plastic off, the pattern stays on the chocolate.

You know what I forgot to do??  I forgot to take pictures of the finished products!  I'm so sorry everybody.  But trust me, they looked good!
