| {doing yoga on a beach in Morocco, 2009} |
I have taken a page from their book, and have created my own yoga playlist. And when I am a yoga teacher (because taking a yoga instructor course is something I'm going to do in the next three years or so), I will be like my favourite teacher, Wes. I will be the type of teacher who plays 80s classic rock and modern indie music in my classes. And I will use words/phrases like "juicy" (to describe when a stretch feels good), "spicy" (to describe when something is challenging), "this is the dance" (to call a flow sequence), and "gorgeous, gang" (when things are looking good).
Anyway. Here is my yoga playlist at the moment (and let me tell you, these are good songs to flow to):
"Beauty in the World" (Macy Gray)
"Snow (Hey Oh)" (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole)
"Hey, Soul Sister" (Train)
"Faith" (George Michaels)
"New York" (Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys)
"It's My Life" (Bon Jovi)
"Have a Nice Day" (Bon Jovi)
"The First Cut is the Deepest" (Cat Stevens)
"Other Ways" (Trevor Hall)
"Satisfaction" (The Rolling Stones)
"Fat Bottomed Girls" (Queen)
"I'm Not Afraid" (Eminem)
"Holiday" (Madonna)
"Come Together" (The Beatles)
I wanna join your class when you teach one someday. xox
ReplyDeleteI'll send you a personal invite, Jo, and I'll make sure I'm teaching somewhere when we're both in the same city. :-) (either that, or when we're both back in Ottawa I'll find a space and offer a class to all my old friends LOL)
