The Fella and I have had a rough few months (not including the past five weeks, which have been wonderful). We've each been way too busy, things haven't always gone to plan, and our apartment was the unwilling casualty of our stress-y-ness.
I have a few days off this week, and decided a) our apartment was in dire need of a deep clean, and b) I didn't want to have to spend my precious holiday doing it. So The Fella and I talked things over, and we decided to splurge and spoil ourselves.
We hired cleaners. Decadent, I know.
This is obviously not a luxury that will become the norm for us. But let me tell you. Life changer.
It was such a lovely experience - the company we went with was super friendly both on the phone and in person. The cleaners came, I handed them the keys, went and grabbed a coffee at a local cafe, came back after they had left, and the place was stunning. They did everything, including the inside of our fridge and the top of my dresser. They cleaned areas I didn't even think could be reached. Meanwhile, I'd had a very relaxing afternoon.
I know it sounds silly, but I cancelled my plans this evening in favour of staying home and sitting in my wonderfully clean apartment, eating homemade mac and cheese.
