neuschwanstein revisited; lesson learned from the monument men

Have you seen the movie The Monument Men?  It's fantastic - if you haven't, I highly recommend it.

I learned a great deal from this fiction-based-on-fact movie, but one of the things I learned made me disappointed with the tours offered at Neuschwanstein.

In 2010 I was lucky enough to visit this beautiful, gorgeous, whimsical castle.  It was a childhood dream of mine, and it really was one of the best places I've been to.  Except.  Nowhere in any of the pamphlets about Neuschwanstein, nor on the guided tour we took of it, was it mentioned that the castle once housed stolen art for the Nazis, in WWII.  This I learned from a Hollywood movie, not from the history experts on location.  Le sigh.
