Sometimes a girl just needs a good action flick.
The Fella and I had a date night last night, where we sat on the couch in our PJs and watched "White House Down" with Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum.
The only thing that bothered me was that they got their facts wrong. In one scene there's a painting of the White House burning, and the tour guide explains that it's about how the British burned down the White House in the war of 1812. It was the Canadians who burned down the White House, not the British.
Ok, yes, Canada wasn't a country until 1867, but still. That war was about Canada, our settlers are considered "Canadian", and it was Canadian Laura Secord who helped save what was then known as Upper Canada from the Americans. So, for the sake of argument, let's say it was the Canadians.
But, aside from this (and I'm really just being picky here, aren't I?), great movie and great date night in.
